Terms and Conditions
By registering for the Melbourne Challenge, each participant is responsible for familiarising themselves with, complying with and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

By providing their personal details, playing participants give their consent to the use of their personal information by 3LG for these purposes.
3LG may arrange media promotion and publicity before, during and after the Melbourne Challenge. Players give approval for references to them and photos of them appearing and being used for marketing purposes. If this is unacceptable, the player must advise in writing at the time of registration.
3LG reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify, suspend or supersede the Melbourne Challenge in its absolute discretion if it considers the Melbourne Challenge is not capable of being conducted as specified, or if required to do so by law. If the Melbourne Challenge is cancelled by 3LG then all monies paid will be refunded.
3LG reserves the right to alter the cost of the Melbourne Challenge due to any fluctuations in the component cost increases that it incurs after initial publication.
3LG shall be held harmless and not be liable for any losses incurred by a participant as a result of the cancellation of the Melbourne Challenge or a change to the date, time or venue of the Melbourne Challenge.
Full payment is required at the time of registration. Cheques should be made payable to 3 Links Golf Pty Ltd. Payments by credit card will attract a surcharge equal to 1.75% of the payment amount.

Each participant is responsible for ensuring that all necessary personal insurance policies are obtained prior to the Melbourne Challenge. 3LG strongly recommends that at the time of booking a comprehensive Travel Insurance policy is taken out.
By registering for the Melbourne Challenge, participants agree to do so at their own risk. 3 Links Golf, host golf clubs and other suppliers of goods and services accept no liability for any death, injury, property loss or damage incurred during or arising out of any aspect of the conduct of the Melbourne Challenge.
Play will be conducted in accordance with the Royal & Ancient Rules of Golf and any local rules applicable at the course of play. Players are also expected to comply with any dress code requirements at the course of play.
All players are to ensure that they adhere to pace of play requirements – a group should remain directly behind the group in front. Any player (or group) causing a group to be a full hole behind may be penalised as 3LG determines.
For all play in the Melbourne Challenge a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his or her play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.) the player is in breach of rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is used.
To be eligible to win any of the prizes on offer, a playing participant must be able to provide proof of their official Golf Australia (or relevant equivalent if from overseas) handicap prior to the start of the Melbourne Challenge. Failure to do so will result in an inability to participate in any prizes on offer. Each individual player must have at least 10 individual competition rounds recorded within their handicap record over the preceding 12 months. Upon application from an individual player, 3LG will consider granting an exemption to this condition (e.g. a new player who has recently obtained a Golf Australia Handicap for the first time).
All players’ Golf Australia handicaps as recorded on Golflink, or relevant equivalent if from overseas, will be updated at the conclusion of each round. Each day of the Melbourne Challenge players will play with a maximum Golf Australia handicap of 27 for males and 36 for females (plus any slope adjustment).
The Melbourne Challenge will be played over 54 holes. The Melbourne Challenge is a 4-person team event (3 amateurs and 1 professional golfer) with the best 2 stableford scores from each hole counting toward the team score. Each team must have 4 players and may combine male and female players. The winning team will be decided by the highest aggregate team Stableford score over the 54 holes played. In the event of a tie for either of the top 2 places in the team event after 54 holes, the winning teams will be determined using the countback methodology as recommended by Golf Australia. The decision of 3LG in this regard is final. In the Melbourne Challenge a tie for Overall trophies will be resolved by a countback system based on points gained on the most difficult course (according to the Slope course rating system) shall apply. If scores are still the same, then based on the second most difficult course (according to the Slope course rating system) shall be applied and so on until one winner is decided.
